The Carolina Wren is a small bird with a big personality. Pairs form lifelong bonds and aggresively defend their territory, vigorously chiding and scolding intruders of all sorts. However, only the males sing, filling their thickets with its loud teakettle-teakettle! Their up-cocked tails and creative nest-building express their fearless nature and optimisitc charm. They often feed in family groups once the nestlings have fledged, foraging about the ground and thickets for insects and fruit.
