I have a special fondness for wild irises.
No, fondness is not quite the right word. Relationship is a better word, but even that doesn’t quite fit.
All I can say is, these little wild irises are the first plants that ever spoke to me. Really they were just singing in the forest and I happened to hear them.
And I’ve never been the same since.
